About GlobeQuizz
GlobeQuizz is a bilingual geography quiz made in Doha. It started from a simple wish: a quiz that treats Arabic as a first language rather than a translation, and that teaches you the name of every country in both Arabic and English.
Why GlobeQuizz
Most geography games are built in English and translated later, if at all. GlobeQuizz is written for Arabic readers first: right to left from the start, region filters for the Arab World, the Gulf and the Maghreb, and a fact card after every answer that shows the name in both languages, so you pick up the other name as you play.
The game family is a familiar one (flags, capitals, languages, currencies, outlines and a globe), but the scoring, the ranks from Traveler to Ibn Battuta and the Daily Challenge are our own.
How the questions are made
Questions are generated from open data and checked by script: every question has exactly one right answer, Hard difficulty uses neighbours, look-alike flags and similar names, and currencies are shown without their nationality so the name never gives the country away.
Disputed capitals are not asked in the quizzes, and country pages describe such situations neutrally. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will fix it.
Who is behind it
GlobeQuizz is an independent project run by Yassine, from Doha, Qatar. There is no company or investor behind it: the site is paid for by ads and by the players who choose Premium.
